BIOGRAPHY
Dr. John Scott Green is a full Clinical Professor of clinical and applied exercise physiology at the Applied Exercise Science Laboratory and the Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine at Texas A&M University. He currently teaches courses in cardiovascular stress testing and electrocardiography, clinical exercise evaluation and prescription, therapeutic principles and instrumentation in sports medicine. He also teaches graduate level courses in exercise physiology laboratory techniques and introductory research design and statistics. His research is focused in two areas: 1. The interaction of exercise and estrogen replacement on the cardiovascular system in postmenopausal women. and 2. The perception of heart disease risk as it relates to actual physiological risk markers. He has authored over 27 refereed publications in such journals as "Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise", " Clinical and Experimental Metabolism", and the "Journal of Applied Physiology". He has presented his research at international scientific forums including the American College of Sports Medicine and the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. He holds 2 Bachelors degrees and a Masters degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, a Doctor of Education degree from Oklahoma State University, and Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from Texas A&M. In 1992, he was elected to fellowship status in the American College of Sports Medicine, a college in which he also holds certifications as a Clinical Exercise Program Director and as an Exercise Test Technologist. His background as an educator include four years teaching high school math and coaching high school athletics in the state of Oklahoma as well teaching university courses in SCUBA diving, rock climbing, swimming, and weight training on the community college level.
