Short Bio
Dr. Leticia Palomin is a Rio Grande Valley native and a Texas A&M University graduate. Broadly speaking, her work focuses on the educational experiences of diverse student populations across educational sectors to advance equitable outcomes in higher education. Her research agenda focuses on three areas: 1) Latinx/a/o familial involvement in the pre-college preparation process; 2) Financial aid literacy; and 3) the access and retention of underrepresented/under-served student populations. Leticia joined the Texas Education Consortium for Male Students of Color ("Consortium") in the summer of 2013. She serves as the first postdoctoral Consortium research associate at Texas A&M University. She has been instrumental in completing a three-year multi-research study focus on advancing the educational outcomes of male students of color across the P-16 educational pipeline in Texas. Leticia is currently working with Consortium institutions to develop research and practice-informed Capacity Building Tools and Activities (CBTA) to assist male students of color in education. Prior to joining the Consortium, she was a bilingual financial aid advisor and worked closely with first-year academic success programs focused on transitioning first-generation college students and their families to Texas A&M University.
