Luisa F. Craig is currently a Research Associate with the Department of Educational Psychology, who acts as an Engagement Specialist with The Heart of Texas GEAR UP program. Her research interests are low-income and at-risk student populations, better access to higher education, and the Latinx population. She provides a variety of on-site college/career readiness services to the class of 2026 students and their families at Hearne ISD and Bryan ISD.
Mrs. Craig is a first-generation high school and college graduate. She graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. During her undergraduate studies, she worked closely with students affairs as a Resident Advisor for the Department of Residence Life for three years, participated in the SHSU Helpline through the Counseling Center, and participated in the Criminal Justice Freshman Learning Community. She also has a handful of graduate hours under her belt through the Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling program at Sam Houston State University. Since being on the field, Mrs. Craig has worked as a Clinical/Lead Receptionist at varies locations and served as a Behavioral Health Service Coordinator before her employment with Texas A&M University.
