Short Bio
My mission is to build adolescents' literacy skills and identities in order to help them navigate reading and writing in the academic disciplines by teaching teachers how to use literacy in the service of teaching their content area. As someone who teaches courses across two programs: Technology and Teacher Education program and Reading and Literacy, I believe that literacy is a powerful tool for all teachers. Literacy is not just the act of reading, writing, speaking, and listening, but it is socially and culturally bound.
