Daniel Bowen earned his Ph.D in Education Policy from the University of Arkansas in 2013. He joined the Department of Educational Administration and Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University in 2015 and is a Research Affiliate of Rice University's Houston Education Research Consortium. Dr. Bowen teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in education policy and politics, program evaluation, and applied quantitative research methods. His research examines the value of students' arts, humanities, and civic engagement through experimental and quasi-experimental research methods. Dr. Bowen serves as the Co-Director of the Arts, Humanities, & Civic Engagement Lab, dedicated to the rigorous investigation of the arts and humanities in promoting student success, social and emotional well-being, and civic engagement, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. He has received over $342,000 in external research funding, directly attributable to his efforts, from institutions and organizations such as the National Endowment for the Arts, Spencer Foundation, and the Houston Endowment to support these research efforts. He has authored 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, a book chapter, and numerous articles, reviews, and reports through various media.
