ANDREW NORDIN
Assistant Professor
Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Nordin has undergraduate and graduate degrees in physics and kinesiology from Lakehead University and a doctoral degree concentrating in biomechanics from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His academic training spans mechanics, physiology, neural engineering, and signal processing. His research focuses on understanding human neuromotor control of dynamic whole-body movements, such as walking, running, jumping, and landing. Dr. Nordin conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan and was a research scientist at the University of Florida. During this time, he developed novel mobile brain and body imaging methods for measuring human brain activity during walking and running. This included the development of dual layer mobile electroencephalography (EEG) sensors and signal processing approaches for cleaning non-invasive high-density EEG and electromyography (EMG). His lab studies how sensory and motor processes interact to produce and modify human movement.
