Dr. Fahrenwald joined the faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the fall of 2018 after a thirty-four year history in PreK-12 public school education. Graduating from the University of South Dakota with a Doctorate in Educational Administration in 1999, his professional and personal history serving Native American and other diverse populations in a variety of public school settings as both a classroom teacher and rural school administrator brings a unique perspective to his current faculty teaching role within the educational administration masters program. Dr. Fahrenwald’s teaching, research and service focus is on preparing school leaders, informed by his public school experiences from five different districts in two states, including sixteen years as a K-12, rural district Superintendent and two years of teaching for the U.S. Peace Corps (Malawi, Africa). Dr. Fahrenwald currently serves on the executive board of the Texas Council of Professors of Educational Administration (TCPEA), an affiliate of the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership. He especially enjoys being a volunteer mentor in the STaR (Service, Teaching and Research) Program, providing support to tenure-track Assistant Professors and Clinical Assistant Professors within the first year of their career at Texas A&M University.
