Dr. Kahn (pronounced "Kane") is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the school psychology program in the Department of Educational Psychology and the Clinic Director for the Counseling and Assessment Clinic. He obtained his doctorate in school psychology at Texas A&M University and completed his clinical internship at the Beatrice State Developmental Center in the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology. After graduation, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology through the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Dennis Developmental Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. In addition, he was a post-doctoral resident in Clinical Neuropsychology at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He has experience in providing and supervising graduate students providing therapy, assessment, parent training, and consultation-liaison services in a variety of settings. His theoretical orientation to assessment is a neuropsychological approach based on the neurocognitive and neurobehavioral aspects of learning, behavior, and complex mental health and medical conditions. He is committed to writing evaluation reports that are user-friendly for all consumers and service providers. His theoretical orientation to therapy and consultation integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and data-based collaborative decision making. His current research interests include manifestation determination reviews, school-based mental health services, child and adolescent mental health, mental health services for college students, access to mental health services for underserved and under-resourced populations, test validation/test development and construction, and intervention outcomes/effectiveness and efficacy studies. Prior to returning to Texas A&M, Dr. Kahn was a school psychologist in Texas public schools in Houston and Belton and was a school administrator in Waco.
