Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Goodrich's research focuses on the development of early language and literacy skills among multilingual children. In particular, he is interested in how children leverage knowledge from their first language when acquiring English in preschool and early elementary school. Recent and current research projects have focused on intervention approaches for improving early academic outcomes for young multilingual children. Additionally, he is engaged in work to develop novel approaches for distinguishing language differences from potential language and learning disorders in multilingual children. Dr. Goodrich's work has been published in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and he has received funding for his research from numerous agencies, including the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development (NIH) and the Institute of Education Sciences (U.S. Department of Education).
